Federal Skilled Worker Program - Express Entry
The Federal Skilled Worker Program is a points based system used to grant Permanent
Resident status to applicants who are able to demonstrate an ability to become
economically established in Canada. The point system is composed of six (6)
factors, in which an applicant needs to score at least 67 points in order to be
eligible.
- Education: Applicants are awarded up to 25 points.Points will be awarded based on the assessment of Canadian educational assessment body
- Language Skills: Applicants are awarded up to 28 points. Points for first language will be 24. CLB 7 and above is required for English Proficiency.
- Experience: Applicants are awarded up to 15 ( 6+ years) points.
- Age: Applicants are awarded up to 12( 18-35 years) points.
- Arranged Employment: Applicants are awarded up to 10 points.
- Adaptability: Applicants are awarded up to 10 points. Spouse Education points are replaced with English proficiency points. She/He will need IELTS (S=4, R=3.5, L=4.5, W=4) to score 5 points. This is equivalent to CLB 4 and could change once the points grid system is approved and implemented.
Minimum IELTS Requirement:

Educational Credential Assessment (ECA)
All Applicants have to get their foreign credentials assessed from one of the four education regulatory bodies designated by CIC. For more information, please contact as info [at] destcanada [dot]com
In addition to scoring at least 67 points and occupcation on the designated list, successful applicants must show that they have enough money to
support themselves and their dependants after arrival in Canada. Applicants and
their dependants must also undergo medical examinations and security clearances
as part of the Canadian immigration application process.
